How It Works
The Neatoscan service utilizes a barcode scanner, PDA (Portable Data Assistant) and earpiece to allow you to quickly and easily
determine the value of books and other merchandise while disconnected from the internet. Getting started is easy!
Simply:
Step 1 - Create an Account
Create a Neatoscan account. The process is simple and in many cases we don't need anything more than your name and a shipping address.
Step 2 - Get the Equipment and Software
If you don't already have a barcode scanner and PDA, they will be in the mail and in your hands within 5-7 business
days. If you choose to use your own hardware, installation of the software is simple, requiring only a few clicks
on your PDA.
Step 3 - Refresh your Data
Once you have your hardware and software setup and ready to go, it's time to load your selected Amazon.com data onto your PDA. The software
allows you to set the thresholds that dictate what kind of items you are looking for. For example, you can
tell the software that you are only interested in items that are worth more than $5.00 and have a sales rank less than a quarter-million.
Or if you are really only interested in high-margin items, you can set the threshold at $35.00 with a sales rank less than a million.
Step 4 - Start Scanning.
At this point you are ready to start scanning! Simply take the PDA and scanner on your next
book hunting adventure. As you scan an item, your headphones will report to you the value and sales rank if it met
the criteria you specified when downloading the data.
